MANHEIM – Lancaster County authorities are investigating a three-vehicle crash on Route 283 at mile marker 22.2 that happened October 29 at 10:50 p.m. A preliminary investigation determined two eastbound vehicles were on 283 when one collided with another while attempting to pass causing the passing vehicle to spin through the median and into oncoming westbound traffic.That vehicle then collided into a westbound vehicle. The driver, who crossed into the westbound lane, was identified as a 20-year-old Hershey man and was pronounced dead at the scene. The westbound driver, a 26-year-old female from New Hope, was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries. The eastbound driver, a 43-year-old man from Lititz and his occupant were uninjured.
