BELCAMP, MD – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Sunday in Harford County. Shortly after 5 p.m., troopers responded to the area of northbound Riverside Parkway at Church Creek Road. A preliminary investigation indicated that a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling northbound on a green light when an 11-year-old female juvenile attempted to cross the roadway in the crosswalk and was subsequently struck by the Jeep. The juvenile was transported to a local trauma center where she was pronounced deceased. The driver remained at the scene following the crash. Investigators do not believe alcohol was a contributing factor.
