LANCASTER – A fatal Lancaster City shooting by a police officer during a Sunday afternoon domestic disturbance call led later to protests that led to vandalism. Police posted the officer’s body cam video on social media. It showed 27-year-old Ricardo Munoz chasing the officer down a sidewalk with a knife in the 300 block of Laurel Street before he was fatally shot. Whether or not the use of force was justified will be determined by the Lancaster County District Attorney upon the completion of the investigation. Later on, police had to use tear gas early today to disperse crowds of people protesting outside the Lancaster Police station following the shooting. Police say tear gas was used because protesters threw things at officers and damaged government buildings and property. A public address system was used to provide several warnings to the crowd. Members of the crowd damaged a county vehicle parked in the front of the police station. Bricks were thrown through the front of the police station and into the post office window.
