CARLISLE – An airplane pilot has died after a violent collision with a PA State Police helicopter near a runway at Carlisle Regional Airport. Acting State Police Commissioner, Lt. Col. George Bivens says the plane, a Cessna 150, was coming down on the runway and veered into the State Police helicopter that was close to the ground, conducting routine training exercises. The two state troopers aboard the helicopter – Cpl. Bryce Korman and Trooper Jason Mills – survived the crash. Officials did not release the identity of the Cessna pilot who died. Photos on social media showed a helicopter on its side near aircraft debris and a line of emergency vehicles. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board were also investigating the crash.
