HARRISBURG – Supported by the PA Farm Bureau, a bill sponsored by Rep. Stephanie Borowicz of Clinton & Centre Counties to allow Multipurpose Agriculture Vehicles or MAVs to travel up to 10 miles on highways between farms and fields was approved by the PA House. MAVs are rapidly becoming the most convenient, go-to vehicle that today’s farmers rely heavily on to complete many of their daily activities. With agricultural lands becoming more spread out, the current MAV travel limit of up to five miles is no longer sufficient for many farmers to efficiently reach all of their properties. The legislation would not impact any ATV usage by non-farmers. House Bill 1307 now advances to the state Senate for consideration.
