This family-friendly comedy is set in a small rural church\, where the leaders are ecstatic when a longtime church member passes away and leaves his fortune to the congregation. But there is one interesting caveat: they must care for his three prized hogs…immediately! That doesn’t seem like a lot to ask for $6 million\, but when you factor in moving the pigs to the church\, the church’s most influential member Pearl June Carbuckle trying to impress a state senator\, a church secretary who does a great impression of Mrs. Carbuckle\, a new pastor\, a janitor with a “creative” grasp of the English language\, and Pearl June’s husband who has trouble seeing\, you have a hilarious sequence of events! \nShows will be held on November 6-9 and 13-16 at Lampeter Church of the Brethren: 1900 Lampeter Road\, Lancaster\, PA 17602. Thursday and Friday shows will begin at 7:30 pm\, Saturday shows at 2:30 and 7:30 pm\, and Sunday shows at 2:30 pm. \nReservations are strongly encouraged\, though seating is general admission on a first-come\, first-served basis. Lancaster Bible College will present the fun-for-the-whole-family show “Seussical: The Musical” on Nov. 7-9\, 2025\, in Good Shepherd Chapel\, 901 Eden Road in Lancaster. \nIn this frolicking musical adventure\, Dr. Seuss’ most beloved characters – like Horton the Elephant\, the Cat in the Hat\, Gertrude McFuzz\, Lazy Mayzie and an imaginative child named JoJo – take audiences from the Jungle of Nool to Circus McGurkus to the invisible World of the Whos. \nTickets are available now at lbc.edu/events. \nPerformances are scheduled for the following times and dates: \n\n7 p.m. Friday\, Nov. 7\n2 & 7 p.m. Saturday\, Nov. 8\n2 p.m. Sunday\, Nov. 9\n\nIn “Seussical\,” the Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton\, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos\, including Jojo\, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers\, but he must guard an abandoned egg\, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule\, danger\, kidnapping and a trial\, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately\, the powers of friendship\, loyalty\, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.
