YORK COUNTY – York County authorities responded to Codorus State Park in Penn Township for a reported drowning at the lake. The York County Coroner reports that a small group of young people had been on a walk together Tuesday afternoon when they decided to swim across the lake. When some made it to shore, they realized an 18-year-old male who had been with them was having difficulty swimming. During an attempt to rescue him, he went under and was no longer seen. A park ranger was notified and 911 was called. Various entities began a search and the male was located before 9 p.m. His name has not yet been released. The death has been ruled a drowning.
