HARRISBURG – Rep. Kate Klunk of Hanover has been appointed to serve as a deputy whip in the 2021-22 Legislative Session, which begins in January, by House Majority Whip, Rep. Donna Oberlander of Armstrong/Clarion/Forest counties. Klunk was recently elected to her fourth term providing a strong voice for the people of the 169th Legislative District, which includes a large swath of southern York County, including Hanover to the west and Shrewsbury Township to the east. Deputy whips have a variety of responsibilities on the House floor, including assisting with member head counts and helping to promote certain challenging issues facing the House Republican Caucus. They also keep Oberlander informed about issues that might have an effect on the legislative agenda and on the caucus as a whole.
