HARRISBURG (AP) – The voters had their say in the 2022 General Election in PA. Democrats won two large races in the Commonwealth. The race for governor has gone to Democrat Josh Shapiro. His victory over Republican Doug Mastriano secures the office for four more years in Democrat hands. Shapiro’s running mate, Austin Davis will be PA’s first African American Lieutenant Governor. On the U.S. Senate race, Democrat John Fetterman defeated Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz to flip a highly competitive seat from GOP to Democrat.. The seat became open after Republican U.S. Senator Pat Toomey announced he was retiring from the post. Democrats mounted a surprising show of strength Wednesday as they repelled a series of Republican challengers in closely watched contests for Congress and governor’s mansions.
