DALLAS (AP) – Democrat PA U.S. Sen. John Fetterman addressed the Republican midterm convention in Dallas. Fetterman spoke for over one minute in a recorded video introducing his fellow PA senator, Republican Dave McCormick, whom Fetterman called “a great American.” Fetterman called himself “a common-sense Democrat” who is always going to stand with America. His appearance is stirring fears among Democrats that he might switch parties after the midterms. Fetterman criticized socialist Democrats as extremists and expressed support in working with President Trump. Fetterman said later Wednesday that he will not switch parties. He has been increasingly isolated from his party, supporting Israel’s war in Gaza and voting with Republicans on key issues. Fetterman’s video message showed him on the roof of his home in Braddock, Allegheny County, with U.S. Steel’s Edgar Thomson steel mill visible over his shoulder.
