HARRISBURG (AP) – Timothy DeFoor has been elected to become PA’s next auditor general. The Republican controller in Dauphin County outpaced Democrat Nina Ahmad for the state’s elected fiscal watchdog. DeFoor campaigned on his record of spending three decades conducting governmental audits and fraud investigations. Democrat Eugene DePasquale is finishing up his second term as state auditor general, and the job is limited to two terms. DePasquale ran for the U.S. House seat in the 10th District, losing to incumbent Republican Congressman Scott Perry. Republicans also maintained control of both chambers of the state Legislature. Vote counting continues to determine results for attorney general, treasurer, and three congressional seats.
