HARRISBURG – Legislation will soon be introduced by Rep. Brad Roae of Crawford & Erie Counties to extend the October 13, 2026 deadline on skill games in PA by six months to April 13, 2027. The lawmaker says it’s unlikely that legislation to make skill games legal, establish a tax rate, establish regulations, and decide how to spend the revenue will get done by October 13. With a limited number of scheduled voting session days between now and then, and no consensus yet, more time is likely needed to get it done. Volunteer fire department clubs, Elks Lodges, VFW Posts, etc. depend on skill games revenue to provide services to the community. Local small businesses include skill games revenue in their business models in their challenge to make sure that revenue exceeds expenses and they can stay open. If the October 13 date arrives with no new law, the impact would be very bad.
