HARRISBURG – A bridge rehabilitation project is set to begin today on Millersville Road, Route 741. Work will be taking place, weather permitting, on the bridge that crosses over the Conestoga River between Rice Road and the entrance to Circle M Campground. There will be lane restrictions and flagging as the crews operate during the daylight hours. According to PennDOT, the necessary repairs include concrete repairs to the substructure and superstructure, expansion dam replacements, a new concrete resurfacing, a new coating on the bridge barrier, and updating the current guiderails. For now, work on the bridge will only result in lane restrictions, but motorists who frequent the bridge can expect a detour to completely close the bridge in both directions for up to 56 days later this year. PennDOT will communicate when that closure is expected as the project progresses. The project is on track to be completed by September 19th, 2025.
