LANCASTER – A Columbia man was sentenced to 11-25 years in prison Monday after being convicted of drug delivery resulting in death, possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and methamphetamine and criminal use of a communication facility. Jeffrey Shackelford, 48 of the 500 block of Goldfinch Road, was found guilty by jury of possessing 87 grams of meth, 15 grams of fentanyl, packaging materials, scales and $7,930 in cash after the Lancaster County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant in August 2021. In September 2021, Manheim Township Police Department charged Shackelford with delivering the drugs to a victim who overdosed and died from multiple drug toxicity. Text messages presented at trial by Assistant District Attorney Christopher Miller revealed Shackelford responded “Crush it” when the victim inquired about how to use the drugs a few hours before her death. Lancaster County Judge Jeffrey Wright ordered the sentence.
