HARRISBURG – The PA Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Alert for our region today. A Code Orange Alert means that air pollution concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups, such as the elderly, persons with heart and lung diseases, those who suffer from asthma, and children. Sensitive groups should limit any outdoor activities during the alert. Smoke from wildfires in northern and western Canada, along with light winds, will likely contribute to daily average concentrations of fine particulate matter in the Code Orange range today.
