HARRISBURG – The PA House State Government Committee plans to vote on a proposed map of new congressional districts. The panel selected a citizen’s map as its preliminary congressional plan. The preliminary plan, submitted through the committee’s online mapping tool by Lehigh County resident Amanda Holt, is now posted for public comment. To view the preliminary map, visit the webpage – PARedistricting.com – and click on “Preliminary Map.” There, users will be able to view the map and offer comments. PA‘s U.S. congressional delegation is dropping from 18 to 17 because of lagging population growth. The redrawn districts must be approved by majorities in both houses of the General Assembly and get the governor’s signature.
