LANCASTER COUNTY – A child was struck this morning while crossing the street to an awaiting school bus in Lancaster County. Around 7:07 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of North Reamstown and Bunker Hill Roads. Officers arrived and found a 12-year-old juvenile laying on the pavement after being struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene. A preliminary investigation determined that the juvenile was attempting to cross the street to the waiting school bus. Multiple witness statements indicate that the school bus had their lights flashing and stop sign down at the time of the collision. The juvenile was evaluated on scene before being transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. This is still an active investigation and anyone with further information is asked to contact East Cocalico Township Police Officer Odenwalt at 717-336-1725.
