STATE COLLEGE – A survey team from the National Weather Service in State College and York County Department of Emergency Services are surveying the damage in Columbia, Lancaster County, and areas in York County from yesterday afternoon’s storms that moved through the area. The survey team expects to have their results by this evening. Strong winds damaged roofs and structures and cause many to be out of power. Eastern York High School in Wrightsville suffered widespread damage. Part of a building collapsed in Columbia and the town mayor issued a State of Emergency and a curfew. The State of Emergency and curfew was lifted at noon today. As cleanup is underway, it’s important that residents report storm damage to their appropriate county emergency management agencies.
