LEOLA – A Lancaster County woman died after her car was struck by a train on Wednesday at 3:17 p.m. Police say a Norfolk Southern train traveling east on the track across the private property of Dart Container in Leola struck a maroon Ford Fusion. The car was traveling south on a private traffic-way which intersects with the tracks. The crossing is marked with white roadway markings and signage, including a stop sign. For unknown reasons, the car slowed before proceeding onto the crossing grade where it was struck by the train. The car was then pushed along the tracks for several hundred feet. Police say the driver, 38-year-old Haregua Wall of Lititz was employed at Dart and was arriving for her scheduled shift. Wall was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing with the cooperation of both Dart Container and Norfolk Southern.
