LANCASTER COUNTY – A building fire in Lancaster County kept crews busy Saturday night into Sunday morning. The call came in around 11:23 p.m. to the 700 block of N. New Holland Road in Earl Township. Responders found a barn ablaze. Several horses were able to be rescued from the barn by residents and neighbors. Units were able to utilize a pond next to the property for a water supply, which reduced the need for tankers to shuttle water from a remote location to the fire. One outbuilding sustained minor damage due to the extreme radiant heat, but all other surrounding structures and contents were able to be saved from the fire. Crews were on the scene of the fire until 5 a.m. Sunday. No injuries were reported. A cause is under investigation.
