LEOLA – Lancaster County’s Blessings of Hope, an area food bank, is working in conjunction with ICM (International Cooperating Ministries) on an opportunity to help the refugees and people of war torn Ukraine. ICM has a network of 179 churches inside Ukraine who are able to share not only the hope of Jesus Christ, but also the hope of physical supplies during their time of need. Blessings of Hope estimates the costs to be approximately $14,000 per container load of 40,000 lbs of food and supplies and is shipping the product via shipping containers to help the Ukrainian people. Their goal is to raise $260,000 and send 18 containers filled with food over the next few months. For every dollar donated over five dollars worth of food and goods can get delivered to help bring relief to the Ukrainian people who had their lives upended through no fault of their own.
