HARRISBURG – Bipartisan legislation has been introduced which would expand access to K-12 robotics programs across PA. Senate Bill 1419 would establish a statewide grant program to support existing K-12 robotics teams and help schools launch new programs, giving more students in the Keystone State access to hands-on STEM learning opportunities. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math education. The measure would help schools offset the costs associated with robotics programs, which often rely on fundraising, grants, and community support to purchase equipment, pay competition fees, and sustain operations. Bill supporters say robotics programs are giving students the opportunity to develop critical thinking, teamwork, and technical skills to help them prepare the next generation of innovators. The legislation is currently before the PA Senate Education Committee for consideration.
