HARRISBURG – Legislation allowing PA to follow permanent Daylight Saving Time has passed the state House. House Bill 335 was sponsored by Rep. Ryan Mackenzie of Berks & Lehigh Counties, who said studies show that permanent Daylight Saving Time would reduce car crashes, reduce risk of cardiac issues and stroke, reduce seasonal depression, reduce robberies, and helps the economy. Allowing the Commonwealth to follow permanent Daylight Saving Time will take Congressional action. The bill now heads to the state Senate for further consideration.The measure goes to the state Senate.
