BERKS COUNTY – Berks County authorities are investigating a fatal water emergency in Spring Township. It occurred yesterday at 6:44 a.m. in the 1000 block of Yerger Blvd. at the former E. J. Breneman Quarry. It was confirmed that a vehicle was submerged in the quarry. A Deputy Coroner responded to the scene and pronounced an 18-year-old male deceased. An autopsy has been scheduled for today. The victim’s identity has not yet been released. Spring Township Police and the Berks County Coroner’s office are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
