LANCASTER COUNTY – Police in Lancaster County were able to take a barricaded gunman into custody. On September 25th at 11:19 p.m., East Lampeter Township Police responded to the 100 block of Crest Avenue for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were attempting to contact occupants outside when a man discharged two rounds from a firearm before retreating back into a house. Additional officers responded including those from PA State Police, West Lampeter Township Police, and members of the Lancaster County SERT, including negotiators. A perimeter was set up around the residence and contact with the man was established by phone. At 12:53 a.m., the man exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident. He was identified as 53-year-old Scott Golicher, He was later taken to a local hospital for evaluation before being released. Golicher faces aggravated assault, strangulation, terroristic threats, and other charges. Golicher was denied bail and incarcerated in Lancaster County Prison. There were no reported injuries due to the discharging of the firearm and there was no exchange of gunfire from police. A handgun was recovered at the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
