LITITZ – Mennonite Disaster Service is busy on the ground in hurricane-damaged Florida doing assessment work needed to deploy Early Response Teams and volunteers to help over the long term. MDS is working closely with local emergency management officials to determine collaborative roles that can stretch funding and volunteer labor to help even more hurricane survivors. Larry Stoner, Regional Operations Coordinator, says there will definitely be a lot of work and asked that people pray for the local MDS Florida Unit. You can join a volunteer wait-list to help those impacted by Hurricane Ian by clicking on the MDS banner below on the left. Checks for monetary donations can be made payable to “Mennonite Disaster Service” with “2022 Hurricane Ian” on the memo line and mailed to MDS, 583 Airport Road, Lititz, PA 17543. You can make an online donation by clicking on the disaster photo on the right.
