LANCASTER COUNTY – A Lancaster County man charged with assaulting a woman and then using an infant as a human shield will have his case proceed to county court after waiving his preliminary hearing. 43-year-old Mupisi Mizowa of New Holland is charged with endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, and harassment. He is accused of assaulting an adult victim at his residence in the 200 block of East Jackson Street the evening of Aug. 3, then using the 1-year-old victim as a human shield, shaking her, and refusing multiple police commands to place her down. Mizowa had been yelling at the adult victim inside the residence shortly before midnight when he struck her twice in the head, then dragged her by the arm. Another juvenile inside the home called police. Mizowa remains in Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail.
