LANCASTER COUNTY – A man was charged with abusing his mother’s corpse and leaving her in a car outside a Lancaster County home. 31-year-old Kevin Ahn, who has no fixed residence, is accused of abusing the corpse of 61-year-old Hyun Ahn of Owings Mills, MD. Police responded to a suspicious incident in the 100 block of Fruitville Pike in Penn Township shortly before 3 p.m. March 24. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the complainant who reported that her estranged brother was outside “acting weird.” She explained to police that Ahn, who is not generally welcome at the home, was operating their mother’s car. Ahn left the scene in the vehicle after he and the complainant argued. Ahn returned to the home shortly after 3:30 p.m. The complainant and her husband confronted Ahn outside at that time when they saw what appeared to be an unresponsive person in the vehicle. Ahn fled the scene on foot after the couple questioned him about the person in the car and they contacted police. Kevin Ahn was later caught in Manheim. An investigation into the death of Hyun Ahn is ongoing and pending autopsy results. Additional charges may be filed. Police are working with the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office and law enforcement in Maryland to investigate the event fully.
