GETTYSBURG (AP) – Authorities in Adams County announced the arrest of a new suspect in a murder more than three decades ago for which another man served 16 years in prison before he was exonerated by DNA evidence. 58-year-old Chris Speelman of New Oxford faces criminal homicide, robbery, and other charges in the August 1987 slaying of 85-year-old Edna Laughman. Speelman had lived next-door to the victim about a decade earlier and his DNA was “an absolute match.” Speelman is being held in Adams County Prison.
