DAUPHIN COUNTY – A Dauphin County shots-fired incident has led to an arrest. Yesterday, shortly before 4 a.m., Derry Township Police responded to a report of multiple gunshots being fired in the vicinity of the 100 block of W. Governor Road. It was later learned that 48-year-old Frazier Matthews of Harrisburg had encouraged a female acquaintance to walk with him from the area of the Rosedale Apartments. There was a disagreement between the two and Matthews fired a handgun he had in his possession. The female was not struck. Officers arrived in the area of Governor Road and Cocoa Avenue and were met with gunfire. They ordered Matthews to drop his weapon, which he did, but then fled on foot. Officers pursued Matthews and were able to take him into custody. No gunshot injuries were reported to police and the female with Matthews was unhurt. No police officers fired their weapons. There are reports that witnesses may have seen or heard what took place, in particular, the driver of a tractor-trailer combination that was traveling in the area at the time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Derry Township Police at 717-534-2202. Matthews faces a number of charges.
