LANCASTER – Lancaster County authorities charged a Philadelphia man with bank fraud. 26-year-old Kadeem Pierre was charged by Lancaster Township Police with Identity Theft, Access Device Fraud, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Theft by Deception, and other crimes. Police began investigating in July after a victim reported that his bank account and debit card information had been compromised after Pierre was able to spoof a bank phone number and impersonate a bank employee. Investigators determined that the stolen account information was used to make numerous unauthorized purchases and transfers totaling more than $8,000. Pierre was taken into custody. The investigation remains ongoing as there are more suspected victims.
