STATE COLLEGE – The National Weather Service in State College determined an EF-0 tornado with peak winds of 85 mph did damage on August 20th in Manor Township, Lancaster County. The tornado developed over Broadstone Street causing damage to trees and pulling gutters off of homes. The tornado traveled east partially ripping a roof off of a townhouse as it crossed Sutherland Road and uprooted additional trees. Finally, it crossed South Centerville Road snapping and uprooting numerous trees as it continued east before lifting over a field. NWS ruled that an EF-1 tornado with maximum winds of 100 mph struck Columbia Borough and an EF-2 tornado with maximum winds of 120 mph struck eastern York County that same afternoon.
