LANCASTER – A heat advisory remains in effect for our region until 8 p.m. tonight. Heat index values of up to 104 degrees are expected. Keep well hydrated, stay out of the sun, and stay in an air conditioned location. If you must be outside, drink plenty of liquids and take frequent breaks. Check on relatives and neighbors, and provide pets with adequate water and shelter from the sun. Some showers and thunderstorms today may provide some relief from the heat, but it will remain very humid. Stormy weather yesterday knocked out power around the area. PPL reports outages mostly in Cumberland and Dauphin Counties. First Energy is reporting a few outages. Crews are out working to restore power.
