HARRISBURG – Dauphin County Rep. Tom Mehaffie has crafted legislation designating Hershey’s Kisses as PA’s state candy. House Bill 2150 would add Hershey’s Kisses to the list of state symbols, which includes mountain laurel as the state flower and white-tailed deer as the state animal. The Hershey Company produces 70 million Kisses a day and many celebrate New Year’s Eve with a 300-pound Kiss featured on the square in Hershey. Mehaffie represents the 106th District which includes the town of Hershey. House Bill 2150 is now before the House State Government Committee.
