LANCASTER – PA U.S. Senator Dave McCormick visited Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster to tour the college’s hands-on technical education facilities and discuss efforts to strengthen PA’s skilled workforce. During the visit, Senator McCormick toured the Computer Integrated Machining Lab and Advanced Welding Fabrication Technology Lab before participating in a roundtable discussion with College President Dr. Pedro Rivera, students, instructors, and industry partners. The discussion focused on expanding career and technical education, creating pathways into the skilled trades, and ensuring PA employers have the skilled workforce needed to support the Commonwealth’s growing economy. The visit comes as PA faces a projected shortfall of more than 300,000 skilled trade workers by 2030. Thaddeus Stevens College currently serves more than 1,400 students and reports a 97% placement rate for graduates entering employment or continuing their education.
