HARRISBURG -A resolution introduced by York County Rep. Carol Hill-Evans was approved by the PA House which recognizes the need for diapers in the state. Now through Sept. 20 is “Diaper Need Awareness Week and the start of the 12th Annual Capitol Diaper Need Awareness Diaper Drive. Currently, 1 in 4 parents report missing work or school because they cannot afford the diapers required to leave their children in child care, and adult incontinence products can cost up to $1,000 per year. Insufficient accesses can lead to health problems such as diaper rash, bacterial and yeast infections, and other potential long-term conditions. From now through Oct. 2, packages of new, unopened diapers and incontinence products, as well as monetary donations, will be collected. Hill-Evans is accepting donations at her district office at 53 E. North Street in York. There will be drop-off bins located also in the Capitol Rotunda and the East Wing Rotunda.
