LANCASTER – Authorities around the region are reminding citizens to lock their vehicles. During the summer months, police departments around the region have handled numerous thefts from motor vehicles. Most of the vehicles have been unlocked. Stolen items include money, valuables, and even firearms. Officials are asking that you take an extra second to make sure the doors on your vehicles are locked when you leave, particularly if they are parked outside. They also say that storing a firearm in your vehicle overnight is not advisable.
